The Knight of Swords; Reversed:
Are you really prepared for victory?
Riding through the mists, ready for battle, we see the Knight adorned with a white plume for pure intention and with his shield over his face and his armor well-fitted. The tan and purple on his horse signify authority and the willingness to get the job at hand finished. The mist, the birds, and the faded background give the impression that they are riding the skies. The path behind him is rocky, and the road ahead is unknown.
In the reversed position, this card warns that you may not have all of the information needed yet to forge ahead, but you are impatient to get going. You need to slow down and reflect, and gather more input, or you may just rush blindly ahead in the wrong direction. There is a risk here of losing control due to your impatience. Swords are the cards of thoughts, words, and actions. So, the advice of the day is to think before you speak or act... Make sure you know what you are talking about, or charging towards.
We all have the tendency to want to place our hopes upon a perceived outcome... But there is danger in the belief that happiness lies within the next battle won, or the next horizon. We are called every day to create our own happiness right where we are. It is important to have goals and dreams. It is also important to realize that life can change in an instant, and everything can fall away. We are here now... We must also be happy with the now; or no battle, no quest, and no horizon will ever see us feeling fulfilled.
